Training and mobility
TRAINING AND MOBILITY Nordic Societal Security Academy (NSSA)
NSSA issues annually up to 10 mobility grants to fund travel costs of team members on working missions or visiting host institutions to use special facilities or carry out a part of their project. WP leaders may submit mobility grant applications (see below) including information on the planned activities and how they relate to particular WP(s).
NSSA co-funds annually 2-3 courses/seminars on subjects relevant for societal security for graduate students, policy makers, rescue workers, media, and others that Nordic academics, emergency management experts and other relevant agents are prepared to offer. The maximum grant is generally 250.000 NOK. Co-funding is necessary if the applicant is not a NORDRESS member. Graduate student participation and good Nordic distribution will strengthen the application. The organizers provide the course venue and manage the course in every respect. The courses/seminars are typically 3-5 days but may vary in length. To facilitate accreditation by different universities, where applicable, the workload of the course should be measured in internationally recognized work-units, ECTS.
The NORDRESS executive team receives applications to NSSA twice on February 1 and September 1.
