SAVE THE DATE: 20/21 October 2016, Copenhagen We invite you to join our hands-on workshop in Copenhagen October 20-21 on how to successfully prepare and conduct a stakeholder workshop. Detailed information follows closer to the date. The workshop starts at 10 am on Oct. 20th and finishes around 2:30 pm on Oct. 21st 2016. If you are interested in participating, please get in touch with us as soon as possible (utar@hi.is). Attendance and accommodation are free, but participants must cover their travel expenses. However a limited number of travel grants will be offered upon request. Please feel free to share the invite with other researchers. The aim of the workshop is to enable you to: - Successfully identify stakeholders and get them on-board. - Prepare and conduct an interactive stakeholder workshop. - Create a mutual benefit for your project and the participants alike. - Identify the right means to measure the workshop´s effectiveness. Participatory stakeholder workshops are a fundamental part of qualitative research and data collection. However, they are tricky as data quality and overall success highly depend on the ability of the workshop facilitators to create a worthwhile event for the stakeholders to attend. Over the past few years, we engaged in research with institutions across Europe on multi-sector partnerships to improve risk management for natural hazards (for more information, visit www.enhanceproject.eu). The teams involved ran a number of successful stakeholder workshops. We would like to share this experience and provide a platform within the NORDRESS and NordSTEVA communities (and beyond) to discuss methods, present tips and tools, and share do´s and don´ts from individual workshop experiences. The attendance to the workshop is limited to 20 participants. This workshop is run as a part of the Nordic Societal Security Academy (NSSA) of the Nordic Centre of Excellence on Resilience and Societal Security, NORDRESS.
