The course will be cohosted by COPE and the Faculty of Law at the University of Copenhagen from 4-6 December 2019.
The purpose of this course is to provide participants with an overview of the ways in which disaster studies have evolved over the past 60 years under four key themes:
- Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Vulnerability
- Disaster Risk Governance
- Gender, Intersectionality and Diversity in Disasters
- Disaster Law and Policy
The course is open to PhD students and early career researchers and will be facilitated by leading experts in the field of disaster studies including JC Gaillard (University of Auckland), Per Becker (Lund University), Maureen Fordham (University College London) and Kristian Cedervall Lauta (University of Copenhagen).
